About the Opportunity:

The Utility Worker reports to the Supervisor and Facility Support Services and is responsible for performing general repetitious activities in maintaining an assigned area while keeping patients, visitors, and staff safe. This position keeps allocated spaces clean and hygienic as required, adhering to established standards and using suitable cleaning and disinfecting practices.

The incumbent also participates in on-the-job training programs, requests clarification of assignments as needed, provides assistance and/or instruction to coworkers, extends civility and concern to others in interpersonal connections, and conducts themselves professionally in work environments.

The Utility Worker directs recommendations, comments, and questions to the right authority; completes tasks in a timely and effective manner; and practices responsible cost-effectiveness in the use of time, resources, and equipment.

This position adheres to all hospital and departmental personnel policies, with a particular emphasis on patient confidentiality; practices and promotes safety awareness; follows fire regulations and reports any suspected safety hazards; participates in and contributes to the departmental quality management program; and supports and participates in departmental continuing education programs. The incumbent is also responsible for completing any related activities as assigned.
