Job Overview:

The Package Center Associate is responsible for a mix of internal administrative support and hands-on package handling. This includes tasks such as scanning, sorting, repacking, labeling, and preparing shipments for dispatch. You’ll also be involved in addressing shipment issues and maintaining inventory accuracy.

This is a part-time, early-morning position, starting at 4:00 a.m., Monday to Friday, with shifts typically lasting 3–5 hours, depending on operational needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support for internal dispatch operations and customer service.
  • Answered phones and resolved inquiries, including DCR/DCO and ICN-related questions.
  • Receive and process packages for delivery, including exception packages and international shipments (ERN).
  • Inspect, repackage, and label damaged or mislabeled items.
  • Sort, scan, and label packages for inventory and storage.
  • Use systems such as DIS, DA, and E2DC for package tracking and corrections.
  • Contact customers for address verification and follow-up on shipment issues.
  • Handle shipments for hold, will-call, or COD expiration.
  • Operate parcel handling equipment and assist with palletizing for trailers or aircraft.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
  • Train new employees on standard equipment and systems.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma, GED, or international equivalent.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 70 lbs (32 kg) unassisted, or 150 lbs with assistance.
  • Proficiency with computers, including Microsoft Office and Adobe Suite.
  • Familiarity with Google Maps or equivalent navigation tools.
  • Willingness to work early-morning hours and adapt to operational needs.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in logistics, warehousing, or customer service is beneficial but not required.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
  • Comfortable using UPS in-house dispatch software (based on AS/400 systems).
