Job Description:

The Package Center Associate is accountable for a variety of internal administrative duties, as well as the loading, unloading, shipping, receiving, scanning, categorizing, and stocking of packages. At present, the primary responsibilities of this position include packaging, repacking, and correcting damaged shipments. This position is responsible for fulfilling additional responsibilities as assigned.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides exceptional customer service to customers and telephone inquiries by locating and processing DCR/DCO requests, including those with an ICN.
  • Material and parcel handling equipment operation
  • Assists in the resolution of shipment concerns and answers the center phone.
  • The process of receiving and accepting shipments and packages for exception processing, which includes:
  • Conduct research and revise the labels of the DIS.
  • Resolve any ECS packages that can be rectified using the DA system.
  • Investigate shipments that are mislabeled.
  • Calling customers to verify address corrections
  • E2DC corrections are now available for same-day delivery.
  • Inspections of shipments that have been damaged
  • Reports of damage
  • Rewraps/Retapes
  • Sort, scan, label, and secure shipments and packages on shelving for inventory and holds.
  • This encompasses the opening and closure of ERN (International) shipments.
  • Processing and distributing future shipments for the upcoming delivery date
  • Retrieving and returning expired hold and will-call shipments
  • The processing of COD shipments that have expired
  • Shipments of skid and shrink wrap are currently awaiting resolution.
  • Placing packages on pallets or conveyors for sorters to scan and load in order to package vehicles, trailers, and UPS aircraft
  • Capacity to maneuver parcels weighing up to 150 pounds with the aid of a partner
  • Capacity to operate in a fast-paced warehouse and parcel dispatch operations environment
  • Tasks associated with package dispatch operations may encompass:
  • On-road exception processing
  • Identifying exceptions to driver package vehicles
  • Addressing and maintaining consumer concerns/ECMs that are transmitted to the building through the SRC system
  • The capacity to operate and acquire knowledge of UPS’s in-house dispatch software, which is based on AS/400 systems.
  • Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Trains others and operates all devices, software, and equipment.
  • Ensures that the work environment is safe, organized, and tidy.
  • Transfers containers of shipments to various locations
  • Addresses any concerns with OMS/Supervisors
