Job Summary:

The Registrar’s Office (RO) is a massive, multi-site, and multi-unit operation that is responsible for the entire academic journey of Dalhousie students, from recruitment and admissions to convocation and beyond. The Service Representative serves as the initial point of contact for students at the Registrar’s Office and reports to the Manager of Service Experience. Deliver exceptional service to the public, members of the university community, and prospective and current students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist and advise clients on a diverse array of university and academic regulations, policies, procedures, deadlines, fees, student assistance programs, and more in person, via email, phone, and chat. Additionally, screen, assess, and respond to inquiries, complaints, and concerns.
  • Process and upload digital transcripts and other documentation to the MyCreds network, as well as fulfill paper transcript requests.
  • Process Registrar’s Office deposits and collect fees to guarantee the veracity of the amount received.
  • Assist students in understanding registration policies, procedures, and deadlines, and register them after the online eligibility period has concluded.
  • Instruct students on the self-serve tools that are accessible to them in Dal Online.

Required Qualifications:

  • A Business/Office Administration diploma and a minimum of three to five years of related experience (or an equivalent combination of training and experience).
  • Proficient in time management, organization, interpersonal, and communication.
  • Exhibited a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in their analytical abilities.
  • Demonstrated capacity to create documentation that is both concise and well-organized.

Assets:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Experience in a Registrar’s Office.
  • Familiarity with the Ellucian Banner system.
  • Knowledge of MyCreds and/or Slate.
