Supported Lifestyles Ltd. is a not-for-profit agency that provides services to adults with developmental disabilities and mental health challenges. Integrated Supports provides support to a variety of individuals with varying needs in group home settings. The Support Worker will provide direct, front-line support and utilize behavioural intervention skills to benefit the individuals that we support. The ideal candidate will be able to work in a team environment, have strong critical thinking skills, and can respond effectively to any situations that may arise.

Supported Lifestyles Ltd. provides its employees with specialized training, orientation and education to further develop the skills required to provide effective support to our individuals. In addition to this specialized training, each new employee will attend five days of comprehensive, paid agency training. Supported Lifestyles is supportive of the professional growth and development of our staff, and there are ongoing opportunities for additional training and professional development available.

Responsibilities

  • Delivering quality, specialized services in accordance with Supported Lifestyles’ mission, philosophy, agency and position standards
  • Providing support to individuals through community integration, skill learning, and positive quality of life
  • Providing assistance to individuals in service (e.g., behavioural and emotional support, data collection, implementation of behavioural support plans, etc.)
  • Participating in community and recreational pursuits with individuals in service
  • Medication administration and documentation
  • Participating in the general upkeep of the group home

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Experience working with developmental disabilities and/or mental health challenges
  • Experience providing behavioural supports

  • Post-secondary education in a related field is an asset (e.g., human services, social work, psychology etc.)
  • Ability to work in a team environment

Typical Schedule:

We have several shifts available to suit all lifestyles! Shifts typically fall between 09:00-15:00, 15:00-21:00, 09:00-21:00 (weekends) and 21:00-09:00 (overnights). We have shifts during weekdays, weekends, and overnight, though preference will be given to those with weekend availability. We offer a variety of full-time, part-time, and relief opportunities, with the option to pick up additional shifts. We support individuals in all quadrants of the city (NE, NW, SE, SW).

Compensation:

The starting wage for this position is based on education and experience and ranges from $18.74 20.11/hour
